Five for Friday on a Saturday =)

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for her 5 for Friday for my very first time.

I don't usually do linky parties because they scare me. They often have you sharing about yourself and that is so hard for me. So, here goes....

1. Edison is by far the most curious and weird cat I have ever known. He is a MESS! He loves to help me do everything. Cutting out lamination can be hard beacause he always wants to lay on top of it. He loves plastic and licking it. He is obsessed with plastic grocery sacks. He will carry them all around the house. I love this cat. It is amazing how quickly our pets get to be our fur babies.

2. I am obsessed with these candles from Bath & Body works. What I really should have done is taken a picture of the cabinet with all of the candles I have. Let's just say that if I ever lose electricity for weeks I am all set with candles.

These candles remind me of the beach, pool, and summer and to me that means RELAXATION. =)

3. We had a blast with a super duper fun adjective lesson yesterday. We have a few things to finish up on Monday before I share about it. This is one of the adjective pizzas we made. =)

4. I would not mind doing so many running a records a week if I could have him cheering me on. I have such a hard time remembering to go back and MSV them.

5. Here I am with my 3 Chickadees at church on Easter Sunday. I love my nieces but do not like how tall they are. I am even wearing my tall shoes in this picture!

I am off to do some housework before heading off to relax by my sister's pool. It was a dreary 50 degrees the other day and it is supposed to get up in the upper 70's today. You gotta love Texas weather! =)

I would love for you to take a few minutes to tell me about how you do running records in your classroom/district.

Running records are a lifeline for me, but I understand how the MSV process can be a little daunting. I'm doing a really good job of staying on top of MSVing this year, but I must admit I got out of the habit for a while there.

Hi Heather,
Don't worry we have had weird weather here too in So. Cal. It was 66 degrees last week and on Thursday it will be 88. Go figure! Enjoy! xoxox

My district does not require any running records, but I feel they are so important that I use them. I do them at least monthly for my lower readers since they can change the most between reading levels. I have a hard time with MSV too. I still have to refer to a text sometimes to figure out between them especially when I don't do it right away.

I brought my two chihuahuas to my parents' house last night while I was hanging out. I found myself referring to them as the 'granddogs' lol.

I love my fur babies....even though they tried to wake me up this morning.

I'm OBSESSED with Beach Cabana! I have it in the plug ins all over my house! Your cat should meet mine, he uses my laminating as a personal slip and slide when I'm trying to cut!

Just started following your blog and I love it! This was my first time linking up to Five for Friday too. We used to live in Texas and I miss that weather! It's still a little chilly in Illinois! Enjoy the 70 degrees!!

I am reading recovery trained so I use aims web probes and use those for my records. The district as a whole doesn't have many who know how to do and use a running record.

I love your kitty, my cats do the same thing when it comes to laying on the laminate.

Have a great week, jill

Enjoy some relaxation with your candles! I can spend hours at that store, sniffing! I walk around, smell everything, can't pick, and go back around and smell everything again! I usually leave with quite a headache, but my house always smell pretty. Enjoy!

I use Quick Reads to track comprehension and I use fluency records form Reading A-Z. I love love to have the LLI program, but its too pricey! Love your blog!

My cats do the same thing! They also try to chew on the edges of the plastic which puts holes in it...at one point they even put holes in a board I had laminated :-( lol
